CELEBRATING IN GRAND STYLE
Flash Mob, Carnival Put Sun City's 30th Year Into the Record Books
SCSCAI Fitness Program Coordinator Jessie Miles, center, sporting zombie teeth and a 30th Anniversary T-shirt, led a group of residents, club members and staff in a flash mob that took event-goers by surprise! Video by Pam Shields/Director, Health & Fitness Dept.
Yes, there was cake and food and music and carnival games. There was even a dunk tank and let's not forget a flash mob to Michael Jackson's iconic Halloween anthem "Thriller" that really got Sun City's 30th birthday party started on October 12 at Mountain Shadows.
Roughly 500 residents turned out to wish the community a "Happy Birthday" during the three-hour festival that had many residents saying "It felt just like being a kid again!" No doubt the carnival-style atmosphere, complete with midway-style games for cuddly prizes, cotton candy and popcorn took many back to the days when it was fun to hang out with friends and share a laugh or two.
If you attended the party and liked what you experienced, let the Link know at Link@suncitylv.com. Maybe we shouldn't wait 30 years to have another party!
