VOLUNTEERS OF SUN CITY SUMMERLIN
WOULD LIKE YOUR OLD KITCHEN CABINET HINGES
Are you renovating your kitchen? Does it have the original cabinets? If so, the Volunteers of Sun City Summerlin would like you to donate the hinges for those residents who need them due to breakage. The company no longer provides them, and we do make visits to fix the 'original cabinet' hinges at no charge. They would be put to good use!

WELCOME TO THE CRUISERS OF SUN CITY SUMMERLIN
So, you like, love, and enjoy cars, of all makes…. join us for a CRUISE IN, DRIVES, CAR SHOWS, EVENTS along with camaraderie by becoming a member of CRUISERS Sun City. We are a group of enthusiasts that enjoy cars, trucks, custom golf carts and motorcycles…pretty much anything that you can drive.
Second Wednesdays of the month “CRUISE IN” brings together a broad selection of vehicles and diverse owners to meet, enjoy, and discuss our favorite hobby. Our monthly “DRIVE”, an organized event with a predetermined route and driver support, takes you throughout Clark County via 40- 300-mile road trips to enjoy your car's capabilities and friends on interesting scenic routes. The “CAR SHOW”, is an annual event featuring all classes for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd placing with trophies and dash plaques being handed out to the winners. Finally, our quarterly “EVENTS” will feature get-together events for Christmas, Spring, Hawaiian and Halloween parties.
Member meetings are on Tuesdays, September 10, with club officer elections on November 19, Desert Vista Community Center, Rooms 1 & 2, 6-8 p.m.

Artists of all levels and those who just love art, are welcome to join. Annual dues are $15. We offer beginner and advanced classes in oil, acrylic, and watercolor painting, drawing, colored pencil and various mixed media. Each year we hold a juried Fine Art Show, featuring the works of our members and instructors. We also offer opportunities for Club members to display their work on the Desert Vista Art Wall. We present lectures and demonstrations during our general meetings, which are held the 3rd Monday of each month. Our first meeting of the fall will take place on September 16, 1 p.m.

INVESTMENT CLUB
Are you a self-directed investor looking for more return and less risk and hoping to do so with a minimal time commitment? This presentation will illustrate one individual's approach to algorithmic, emotionless trading using exchange traded funds (ETFs) that represent a broad range of asset categories to create monthly trading strategies to optimize returns while reducing risk. PICKLEBALL CLUB
Club open play is every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Any Sun City resident may set up Pickleball play at other times.

BUNCO CLUB
Join us for Bunco the 4th Saturday of each month, except December. Our games start promptly at 6 p.m. at Mountain Shadows. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Come with a spouse, friend or alone. You may visit twice prior to joining for $2 annual dues.
No previous experience necessary. You will need your association card to show the monitor, $5 to play, and hopefully a smile to share. Snack is served halfway through the evening. At the end of play prizes are awarded.

PHOTO SHOW
FUN, FREE SUN CITY SUMMERLIN PHOTO SHOW
Bring your family, friends and neighbors: everyone is welcome. It's free and it's fun.
The Photo Show, put on by the SCS Photography Club members, will be open to all from 10 am until 3 pm on Saturday, October 19th at the Desert Vista Community Center.
Wander through scenery local and exotic, animals fierce and cuddly, nature vast and close up. Vote for Best of Show. We guarantee it’ll be a difficult choice.
There will also be a display of some of the interesting things you can do with photos, such as printing photos on canvas, photo mugs, photo albums, ornaments…all sorts of things.
The Sun City Summerlin Photography Club members displaying at the show used a variety of equipment: everything from sophisticated DSLR cameras to smartphones. And Photo Club members will be available to answer questions.
We look forward to seeing you there.

MUSICMAKERS CLUB
If you love music and like to sing or play an instrument, do come and check out the Musicmakers.
We are a four-part harmony ensemble of singers who enjoy rehearsing and/or performing. Regular choral sessions are Mondays and Wednesdays 1-3 PM at the Pinnacle Music Studio, normally September through April. Jam sessions for instrumentalists are also scheduled 3PM to 5PM.
The summer schedule of 2024 will include instrumentalists on Mondays at 3PM. Singers will begin in August only on Mondays from 1PM to 3PM.
Regular meetings of the club are every first Monday at 12:30 in the Music Studio. We ask all Musicmakers to NOT WEAR FRAGRANCE OF ANY KIND (perfume, after shave, hair spray, hand lotion etc.). ALLERGIES!

8 Brocade, Yang 24, Yang 37
This intermediate tai chi class starts with 8 Brocade Qigong warm up exercises, then lets members improve their skills in the two basic Yang forms of tai chi.
Introduction to Tai Chi
This basic tai chi class provides both the welcome and confidence for absolute beginners to experience and enjoy their Introduction to Tai Chi.
Yang 24 &108, Mixed 48
This advanced tai chi class starts with 8 Brocade warm up exercises, followed by the Yang 24 Simplified Form, the Yang Style 108 Form, and concludes with the Combined 48 Form.
Qigong sampler, Yang 24, Tai Chi Qigong 32
This beginner class introduces Yang family 24 step form and multiple qigong exercises.
Yang 37 (Alex’s Form)
This intermediate tai chi class is for those able to self-guide and works solely with the Yang 37 Form.
Staying Strong with +Tai Chi Qigong
This introductory qigong class is a 32 posture sequence for beginners that focuses on energizing one’s mind and body.

The Sunshine Service Club lends walkers, canes, transporters, wheelchairs and shower chairs free for two months.
Baby furniture such as highchairs, booster seats, and strollers can be borrowed for two weeks.
Folding tables and chairs may be borrowed for six days.
These services are for residents only - cards must be presented to borrow any equipment.
The Warehouse is open Monday through Saturday from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. They are closed on Sundays.
You can reach the warehouse by calling 702.341.9741.
We are always welcoming new volunteers. Applications are available at the warehouse during business hours or at our meetings. Meetings are held the first Monday of each month [except for July and August] at 11 a.m. at the Desert Vista Community Center. Light refreshments are served. No membership dues.
