Lost Dog Finds a Home at Local Shelter
The lost female Terrier that was recently found in Sun City is safe. After having been picked up by the local animal control department, she has been bailed out by A Home 4 Spot, a recognized Las Vegas pet rescue organization. The little girl dog is scheduled to visit the group’s veterinarian for a health checkup. After she has been identification-chipped and deemed healthy, a representative of A Home 4 Spot will begin formal adoption proceedings to find her a permanent home. Check back for photos and more information, which are in the works.

Sun City Landscape Crew Is Outstanding
Irrigation Replacement Completed Ahead of Schedule
“I can’t say enough good things about this crew!” said Fred Baniecki of the Sun City Men’s Softball Club. “The landscaping crew from Sun City Summerlin has just completed relocating the outfield grass watering lines in preparation for our artificial turf. They completed the task about a week ahead of schedule. They accomplished the sophisticated, back breaking work in 100-plus-degree weather in four weeks. This effort allows the artificial turf company to come in early, and we will be back out on the field sooner.”

Summit Breakfast Great Out of the Gate
Sun City residents lined up at The Summit on Sunday morning ahead of the 9 a.m. opening of the community’s new breakfast buffet eager to get the scoop on the delicious aromas permeating the air.
Assorted pastries, fresh fruit, two kinds of scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon, sausage links, vegetable fried rice and a scrumptious shrimp and crab dip greeted a steady stream of diners who overflowed the main dining room into the Starlight Room.
As residents seated and served themselves at the buffet, servers were quick to offer complimentary mimosas in three flavors – orange, strawberry and mango – in celebration of opening day. Quick comments made by residents around the room included, “It’s about time,” “A great meal with a view,” “Regular bacon would be nice,” “Couldn’t wait to come up and support the event,” “We need better plates,” “Everything’s very tasty,” and more.
“We are pleased with the reception and turnout for the first Sunday,” said SCSCAI Food & Beverage Manager Rick Sciascia. “We learned a lot from the people who came, some good and some not so good, but all feedback helps and ultimately makes you better. Our staff did a nice job for the first time, but I can assure you this is a process, and we will continue to improve each time we do this type of event.”
