SMOKE ALARM INSTALLATION CONTINUES
On Thursday, August 12, Michael Pennock from the Neighbor Preparedness Team and Rick Rozier, Deputy Fire Marshal, met at The Summit to review and update the smoke alarm installation here at Sun City Summerlin. It is important to note, after 10 years, the alarms won’t detect smoke, even with new batteries.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue resumed the program of installing the smoke alarms for Sun City Summerlin residents who signed up and paid for their smoke alarms before the COVID-19 shutdown. To date, 781 units have been installed and there is approximately 374 are left in the backlog file. Las Vegas Fire & Rescue’s Certified Fire Inspector Zachary Collins leads the team for these installations. Zack is the program leader, doing installs, scheduling, troubleshooting alarms, purchasing, and education for residents. The new unit cost to you is $135 and there is ZERO funding from Sun City HOA assessments. Currently no other community in the Las Vegas area has this program. Thank you Zack, for your service.

If you already have received your Homeowner Association Card or Renters Card you are invited to attend a New Resident Orientation. Orientations are held on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and Thursday afternoons at 4 p.m. If you are still working nd need us to make arrangements for an early evening orientation, this can be accommodated.
