Jim Weniger and Fred Baniecki, Men’s Softball Club members and the project managers for the synthetic turf conversion at the Pinnacle field, offer a glimpse of the work in progress. Both men were headed to a Club meeting on Wednesday, August 16, where the club’s board was to discuss plans for a grand opening celebration of the field tentatively set for Friday, September 29. The information listed on the form is the best way to ensure your family/friends are notified ASAP if something is wrong. How the Electronic Speed Signs Work
bY SCSCAI Board member Barbara Holden met with Las Vegas Traffic Field Supervisor Karl Kelley to get the scoop on Sun City’s electronic speed signs. The signs are designed to remind residents of community speed limits, as well as to alert them when they are going too fast and need to slow down. Understanding the different speed limits in Sun City is important not only because obeying them is the law, but it is also the best way to keep residents safe.

TRIGGER FOR ACTIVATION:
Button Willow – After crossing over intersection of High Range Drive.
Villa Ridge – Approximately 3-4 houses out from the electronic sign.

Vehicles, including golf carts.
WHAT TRIGGERS ACTIVATION?
1. Speed of 23 mph will trigger the electronic sign to display the vehicle speed. (Lower than 23 mph, the sign will remain dark.)
2. Speed of 26-36 mph will trigger the electronic sign to flash the vehicle speed.
3. Speed over 36 mph will remain dark. The unit is functioning as designed.

The Summit Offers Great View, Great Price
Sun City residents Cliff Talgo and his wife, Pat, topped off an afternoon of exercise last week at The Summit, where they enjoyed lunch with a beautiful view. “After swimming next door at the pool we got hungry, so we went next door,” said Cliff. “You can get a slice of pizza and a beer for $7. It’s a great deal.”
