Learn More About the Dark Side of the Internet
Detective Sean Taylor of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Internet Crimes task force will be on hand, Wednesday, May 23, 7 p.m., at Desert Vista to talk about the darker side of the Internet for seniors. The presentation is open to all Sun City residents. No RSVP is required. Snacks will be provided.
“On the surface, the Internet is a great tool that offers many advantages to all walks of life. However, beneath the surface it can be treacherous. So much information at our fingertips can create personal vulnerability about which we may be unaware until it is too late,” said Detective Taylor.
Join the detective as he discusses steps residents can take to resist “The Darker Side of the Internet.”
The event is sponsored by the Neighborhood Watch/Community Preparedness Committee.

Remember to Pause for Your Dog's Paws
While it seems like we got a reprieve from Mother Nature this week in the high temperature department, the sizzling summer heat will be here in no time. And with high temperatures comes even hotter cement and asphalt. Please be kind to your dog and remember that if you wouldn’t walk barefoot on the sidewalk, then neither should he/she. If your furry friend needs to get out, then plan a stroll in the early morning hours before the sun hits it high spot in the sky.
Desert Vista Picnic Area to Get New Grass
Landscape Department crew members have started a turf restoration project at the Desert Vista picnic area that is expected to last three weeks. The area should reopen around the week of June 11. When completed, the picnic area will once again be green with lush, soft turf and ready for your club or community organization’s event.
