Pre-Diabetes Lunch Seminar Set for Thursday
CORRECTION: The day of the week of the Pre-Diabetes Lunch & Learn Health & Fitness Department seminar on Page 34 of the March Link was incorrectly reported. The event will take place on Thursday, March 7, 12 p.m., at Desert Vista. Join a clinical dietician as she defines pre-diabetes, talks about how it is diagnosed, and shares information on how the disease can be prevented or delayed. Lunch will be provided by Summerlin Hospital. An RSVP with the Social Monitor is required. The event is free.
Melanie at Maza This Saturday
Looking for something to do on Saturday night? If you love great music and enjoy trying exciting food, this may be your best bet. Whether you gather up a group of friends or head out solo, Sun City resident Melanie Spector will keep you entertained. Melanie takes the stage at Maza Mediterranean Grill and Lounge from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. You’ll enjoy authentic Turkish cuisine and Mediterranean favorites while hearing some fantastic music. Fitness Center Renovations to Close Gym, Pool Area
Three projects scheduled at the Mountain Shadows Fitness Center this month will necessitate closing the gym and outdoor pool area.

- The reception area is under renovation. This project has resulted in a rearranging of the lobby area for easy check-in to the fitness center and all outdoor amenities.
- The gym will close on Monday, March 18, when the carpet is replaced with rubber flooring. This project is expected to be complete by April 1.
- The outdoor pool area is closed and is expected to open on time on April 1.
Daylight Saving Time Starts Sunday
When you head to bed on Saturday night, be sure to set your clock ahead by 1 hour as Daylight Saving Time starts at 2 a.m. A little advance preparation will ensure you stick to your Sunday schedule on time.
