HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PANCHO
Cliff Talgo shows off a spiffed up Pancho during the Chihuahua's 2nd birthday party. Partygoers enjoyed cake, and resident Lexi Akerman brought her new puppy Audrey to the party to meet the birthday pup.
A dozen friends turned out to celebrate sweet little Pancho's second birthday at Miller's Tavern at Palm Valley Golf Course on Saturday, December 28. The patio party was kept warm with heaters set up by Miller's staff. The loveable Chihuahua, owned by Sun City resident Cliff Talgo, was showered in gifts that included lots of squeaky toys, chewable treats and a birthday hat and bow tie. After opening his presents, partygoers enjoyed slices of birthday cake that featured dog-safe paw print cookies approved by Pancho.

The Palm Valley Golf Course took delivery of 80 golf carts on December 17, with new carts expected to be delivered at Highland Falls and Eagle Crest golf courses within the next few weeks.
According to SCSCAI Director of Golf Donny Long, “The new carts are powered by lithium batteries, which increase the cart warranties by one year. Instead of the original four-year (purchase) rotation, we will now go to a five-year rotation,” he said.
The remaining golf carts will continue to be color-coded per course, with Palm Valley carts sporting an eggplant shade, while the other two courses will see charcoal and platinum tones.

FRIDAY NIGHT BRIDGE SUPPORTS PROJECT 150
"The Friday Night Bridge Club chose to help Project 150 in lieu of a gift exchange this year," said Club member Jan Edwards. Project 150 is a charitable organization that assists homeless and disadvantaged high school students all across the valley. In addition to the items in the picture, Club members also donated $235 to the organization.
CHRISTMAS CLAUS
Sun City resident Charlie Bush, aka Santa Charlie (who was featured on the cover of the December Link) spent a few hours on Christmas morning at Summerlin Hospital with his wife, Edie (aka Mrs. Santa Charlie), visiting the infants in the NICU and children in the Pediatrics wards. “We gave each child a stuffed bear provided by the hospital and a bank that the Ceramics Club makes for the children,” said Charlie. “Delighted children and parents took their own photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, as well as various hospital staff and visitors.”
Sun City’s Ceramics Club has been making banks for the children in the hospital for several years. “Santa Charlie and I have been going to the hospital for the past four years, and we plan to keep on doing it for many more years,” said Edie, who is also a member of the Ceramics Club.
