The Link Offices Have Moved
The Link offices have relocated to the Mountain Shadows Community Center. Access is via the main entrance, where residents and visitors can hang a right into the area that used to be occupied by the library. The Link's office hours remain the same, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Happy Veteran's Day
In November 1919, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed November 11th as the first commemoration of Armistice Day with the following words: "To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations..."

- Beer Park at Paris Las Vegas – Veterans and active-duty service members who present a valid military ID will receive a complimentary Budweiser draft beer and 10 percent off their total bill.
- Cactus Pete’s – On Veterans Day, all guests who present their military identification receive one free dinner buffet at The Buffet from 4:30-10 p.m.
- Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant - Get 25% off of your total bill for veterans and active-duty personnel with a valid military ID. on Saturday November 11 and Monday, November 13.
- Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area – Enjoy waived scenic drive entrance fees on Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12.
- Silverton – A free buffet for all active and retired military on November 10 and 11, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Station Casinos – Every Monday in November, enjoy deals, including free Starbucks, 2-for-1 Crown Royals, $2 beers, free bowling and retail discounts. A free buffet to all active, inactive and retired military on Friday, November 10. Locations include Station Casinos, Fiesta Henderson Ranch, Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock Resort.
- South Point – Veterans and one guest receive a free entry to the Garden Buffet on November 11 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Please show a valid military ID.
Thinking of Running for the Board of Directors?
All homeowners in good standing are eligible to run for a seat on SCSCAI’s Board of Directors. The annual election takes place in February, however, the deadline to submit candidate statements is Thursday, November 30, 5 p.m., at the Administration office. This year there will be five open seats on the Board. Church Offers Grief Support
Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 8601 Del Webb Blvd., offers a free grief support group for those seeking assistance dealing with the loss of a loved one. The group’s session runs through November 14, and people meet every Tuesday at 1 p.m. through November 14 inside the chapel. For questions, call Melody Edwards, 702-683-5189.
