Treats and Talk With SCSCAI Directors Barbara Holden and Ellen Bachman
SCSCAI Board members Ellen Bachman, left, and Barbara Holden are hosting tonight's Treats and Talk event at The Summit, 5:30 p.m.
At a recent Coffee With the Board, residents were surveyed about scheduling an evening session similar to the monthly morning meeting. The later time was suggested as a way to accommodate Sun City residents who work, or may have other daytime commitments that prevent them from attending the 10:30 a.m. Coffee With the Board. When residents in the audience were asked if they would support an evening session, most of them indicated that they would be interested in doing so.
SCSCAI Directors Barbara Holden and Ellen Bachman ran with the response and scheduled the evening meeting, which they are calling “Treats and Talk With SCSCAI Directors Barbara Holden and Ellen Bachman.”
The meeting is a forum for everyone who lives here.
In the same manner as Coffee With the Board, there will be no specific agenda and no decisions can be made during the meeting. Residents are encouraged to talk about anything that concerns them with the assurance that directors Holden and Bachman are anxious to hear from them.
For more information, contact Barbara Holden at 319-310-577 or baholden2437@gmail.com; or Ellen Bachman at 702-966-1453 or ebachman@embarqmail.com

The patio at Tavern at the Falls at the Highland Falls Golf Course is closed for renovation. The plan calls for the patio area to be enclosed, which will expand the dining room area to allow for increased diners and golf tournament events. Construction is expected to continue for several weeks.
Safety Is Key During Coyote Season

Residents have reported increased sightings of coyotes throughout the community. This video shows a coyote along the first fairway of the Palm Valley Golf Course. According to rangers with the Nevada Department of Wildlife, coyotes are most active at sunrise and sunset, so residents are warned to take extra precautions while walking in the neighborhoods or letting their pets out into their courtyards or backyards during those times. For added safety, rangers advise carrying a whistle or other noise-maker that may be sounded to ward off the animals. Dog owners must always keep their pets on a leash while in public, it is the law. The ordinance is designed for the safety of the pet, as well as others.
