Attracting New Generations to Sun City Summerlin
How will Sun City Summerlin attract the next generations to our community? What will future residents look for when they consider moving to SCS? These questions inspired two current residents, Wendy Bowles and Dolly Mack, to develop an approach for finding out. Several focus groups with residents and real estate professionals were held last fall that led to the Electronic Focus Group, which is available as an online questionnaire for all residents to participate in. For those residents who do not have access to a computer, a hard copy is available at the Social Monitor stations at all community centers.
Data collected during the trial is anonymous and will be published at a later date.

SCSCAI Special Election Results
Sun City residents cast their votes during December’s special election with the following results: All four ballot questions, including the “Basket” of 13 changes to the Association’s Master Bylaws, were approved. According to the Election Committee, residents voted to extend the term of office for Board of Director members to three years; OK’d the recommendation for filling vacancies on the Board of Directors, where the vacant seat is filled according to the next-highest vote-getter; and allowed the Board to increase the term of SCSCAI contracts to more than one year. Overall, 2,138 ballots were received; 2,086 ballots were validated successfully and counted. It was further reported that 27.5 percent of Sun City residents participated in the vote.
