Don't Be the Face That Shuts Sun City Down
THE WEARING OF FACE MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING APPLIES TO ALL SUN CITY SUMMERLIN AMENITIES, INCLUDING THE RESTAURANTS, FITNESS CENTERS AND GOLF COURSES.
The Good News: Earlier this week, Governor Steve Sisolak announced that the State of Nevada would be changing direction and instead of industry-wide enforcement, as has been done in the past, he will be introducing a new plan of enforcement which will be to shut down individual businesses that violate the COVID-19 directives. We see this as good news because here at Sun City Summerlin we have implemented all of the directives and regulations that have been put in place. For the most part, our owners and residents have complied without incident. With the Governor’s new direction, as long as we are in compliance, we will not be closed down just because somewhere else in the state a gym/pools are not following the directives.
The Bad News: While our remaining open is no longer dictated by industry compliance, we now risk being closed down on the spot if an inspector comes into our facility and finds that people are not following social distancing or face mask directives. This is where we need your help. please review the attached face covering requirements. While some of the requirements seem unnecessary (like wearing a mask while relaxing in a chair or lounge and social distancing, these are the directives we have to enforce.
The Really Bad News: If we are inspected and one of our owners or residents is not wearing a face covering as required, or a group of our owners/residents are not practicing social distancing, the inspector can require everyone to immediately leave the building/area and the inspector can close the facility down on the spot.
The State of Nevada has announced it has increased the number of inspectors and the Governor has stated they will be out in force with a concentration on gyms, swimming pools and restaurants.
Please help the monitors at the fitness centers. If you see someone without a facial covering or you see people not social distancing, gently remind them to step back and/or mask up. And remember, we don’t make the directives, but we do have to enforce them. More than that, you do not want to be the face that shuts down the entire fitness center and pools.
Thank you for your attention and your help.

As we continue to deal with daily life under the mandatory guidelines associated with COVID-19, it is important to follow a few simple rules designed to keep us safe and healthy. 1. Remember to wear your face mask before entering any of the community buildings and/or fitness centers; 2. Practice social distancing by keeping 6 feet apart from those around you.
