Hawaiian Club Luau a Success
The Sun City Hawaiian Club's 6th Annual Luau did not disappoint on Saturday, June 10, at Desert Vista. The event, which sells out every year, packed the ballroom to the brim, including two new visitors -- Stu and Beth Gershon, who enjoyed the event so much that they agree they'll be signing up as new members soon. In addition to a delicious assortment of authentic cuisine, including Kalua pig, short ribs and roasted chicken, the event hosted dancers and musicians from the Hawaiian Dance Company.
"I was very impressed by the graciousness of the members of the Hawaiian Club," said Stu. "My wife and I felt very welcomed there. I was looking for the roasted pig and poi. Maybe next year," he laughed.
As part of the entertainment, twin dancers Leilani and Pualani Wong transfixed guests, while musicians Gary Wong, Bill Soon and Kimo Taylor provided a wonderful soundtrack. Hats off to Tammy Camacho, Hawaiian Club treasurer and choreographer, Club President Sandy Weiser, and to all the members who supported the event.
