FREE Movie "The Sting"

This 1973 film is set in September 1936 starring Robert Redford and Paul Newman.   These two grifters set out to con a mob boss and leave their "mark" before he even notices he's been conned.  This was a wildly popular movie in 1973 and we think you'll enjoy it just as much 48 years later.  Let's not forget the music! Chances are, you will leave the Starbright Theatre humming "The Entertainer" by Scott Joplin.  

This FREE movie is showing at Starbright Theatre located at the Pinnacle Community Centers.  Seating is first come, first served.  Tickets are NOT required.  Call Doug Lemcool in our Community Services Department if you have any questions, 702.240.1310.

This Zoom get together has become a community favorite.  Zoom in to see what is happening in the neighborhood.   The  updates include project updates, SCS business and any City of Las Vegas issues that may impact SCS owners and residents.  

Executive Director Mitzi Mills welcomes questions, comments and suggestions.

Weekly Meditation

Often we get so busy with daily life duties, answering emails, calling friends and family, watching the news and helping neighbors, that we forget to give ourselves the gift of stillness. 

If you feel overwhelmed and aren't able to shut off your thoughts, come to Sun Shadows Community Center and let SCS Fitness Specialist Charli Sue Douglas bring your back into your own space with the practice of meditation.

Golden Age of Movie Musicals

This evening will begin in the 1940's and continue forward as we count down the top 25 movie musicals of all time.  It will be a trip down memory lane as you witness performances made famous by Judy Garland and dancers like Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly.

Building Strength from the Core Up

We're focusing on strength training this month.  We are happy to welcome Dr. Glenn Barnes from UNLV's Sport Medicine to the Desert Vista Community Center.

Dr. Barnes will be sharing with the participants the importance of muscle strength as we age.  In particular, strength in the lower extremities and core to help in prevention and treatment of common ailments, lower back pain and falls.
